A new River Bus service which links Battersea Power Station with the City of London and Canary Wharf has been hailed as a ‘major milestone’ as it opens to the public.
The new service puts the new Battersea Power Staion development within 15 minutes travel of Embankment Pier, 20 minutes of Blackfriars and City, and 40 minutes of Canary Wharf.
It has been hailed as a welcome extension to the River Bus system on the River Thames and provides an additional route for the new residents and workers at Battersea Power Station and visitors of Circus West Village. The service has now been launched, having opened for business on the 1st November.
The MBNA Thames Clipper service runs every 20 minutes during peak travel hours and every 30 minutes on off peak hours and the weekend.
Sean Collins, chief executive of MBNA Thames Clippers, said: “Battersea Power Station is the 22nd pier along our routes and the addition of this stop will support growing demand from people wishing to live, work and spend leisure time at this iconic location as the transformation takes shape. The River Bus service is going from strength to strength, with a growing number of people across the capital opting to travel by boat”
